Fortunately, this QTC (quantum tunneling
composite) has been widely used in many other products, such as
keyboards and touchpads, so adding it to button batteries will not
increase the cost much.
In addition to improving battery safety,
the researchers also claim that because the material is waterproof, it
is more suitable for outdoor use than before. They also plan to test it
on lithium-ion batteries.
